Competition Info and Registration

Dear IJMC Members

We are thankful to the IJMC Board Members for granting Israel the possibility to host the:

IJMC 2009 8th JWM

We are working hard to make the 2009 JWM , the best and largest ever .

As you will notice we have an active Governmental support from the
Tamar Regional council and the Dead Sea Economical company, and also directly from the Ministry of Tourism.

This is done with respect to the former JWM events and the conclusions drawn from it.

We will be grateful to hear any helpful advice and tips you have.

In order to improve the communication between the organizers and the competitors we established an Independent Forum for the Event.

Amongst the new improvements we are offering on-line updates directly to your e-mail.

We also established 2 new subjects for competition that requires no models, but only a little group effort to win the prizes

On the last day we are planning to have the largest RC Jet Air Show, ever done, in the JWM history.

We hope you will find all the information as useful and enjoy the discounted fees we managed to gain.

We invite you to come and enjoy the Israeli hospitality.

It will be our honor to host you in Israel , 2009.

Make it a 2 weeks vacation and join us to make it the largest JWM ever!!!!!

Best Regards & Welcome to Israel

Avi Ambar
On Behalf of all the Organizers

1. Place:
Mezada – Dead Sea Airport – Dead Sea Shore

 2. Dates:
6-13th August, 2009 (competition schedule)

World Masters one week plan (subject to change):

The JWM event will start on Thursday, 6th August, 2009

• Teams should arrive no later than Wednesday, 5th August, 2009 by 14:00
• Static judging and flying judging begin (Parallel) on Thursday, 6th August at 09:00 or earlier
• The Opening Ceremony will begin at 16:00 on Thursday, 6th August followed by a party
• Official training will start on Monday 3rd , Morning
• The closing ceremony and goodbye party are planned for Thursday, 13th August
• The dates for Nations Night and the IJMC meeting will be published later

3. Weather:
The scheduled time for the event is the middle of the summer in Israel.
The Average temperatures in the Dead Sea area are 38-39 degrees Celsius.
The exceptionally low humidity (15-20%) makes it much more comfortable than conditions of high humidity.
You do not sweat, therefore it is very important to drink a lot.

4. Accommodation:
Many hotels are available in the Dead Sea resort area of Newe Zohar. After checking offers from all the hotels in the resort, we have chosen one hotel as the official event hotel, which we believe to be the best deal in the area. Therefore, we are planning and hoping that all the teams will opt to stay in this same hotel. We can only recommend that you choose to stay here as opposed to somewhere else. We can also save you time by taking care of your hotel reservation for you.

A shuttle bus will be available for the teams from the resort to the airfield and back every hour.

Please check, compare, and decide

We will always try to take care of any problems that team members may encounter. Therefore, to enable us to do this more efficiently, we prefer that all the teams stay in the same hotel and use the same services.

The best deals for reservations at the event hotel officially apply until 31, January 2009. Therefore we recommend that you make a reservation, which can always be cancelled later. In any case, reservations at the event hotel require an advance payment of 20%. (If you cancel, you will pay a 20% cancellation fee, but at least you will have somewhere to sleep).
The rest of the payment will be made at the hotel after your arrival.

Accommodation fees for the event hotel will be published by July 2008 on the website Event Hotel Page.

You can make your own reservation directly at any other hotel of your choice. (If you get a better price than the one we published, please let us know!)

All the hotels in the area are to be found on many web sites including: http://www.hotels-in-israel.com/DeadSea.cfm

You will find the relevant reservation details on the 8JWM registration forms.

5. Food:
The resort is full of good restaurants and fast food restaurants.

For the competitors and the teams:

• Option of breakfast at the Hotel (usually B&B)
• Lunch will be offered at the airfield buffet at reasonable prices
• Dinner is taken independently at a place of your choice
(All the hotels offer dinner at a reasonable price).

During the 10 days a full bar facility will be available at the airfield.

6. Entry fees:
To be published by June 2008.
Due to shortening the competition time and adding more judges, fees will
be a little higher than they were for the former JWM.
Entry fees for the World Masters are payable in EURO

7. Radio Frequencies:
There are no special limitations at this stage;
more updates if any will be published later.
